Quillan Salkillo vs Nasrat Haqparast
Oh…. MY…. GOODNESS, an absolutely INSANE finish from the Aussie, through the short bit of fight we saw, Quillan was fast and able to land his combinations at will. The speed advantage was very apparent, and the long native of Perth was not playing around. A top 15 shoutout is what he did after winning, and he honestly deserves it. Through three fights in the UFC, he has two very quick and impressive knockouts and a dominant display of grappling in fights; exciting things should be awaiting.
(7) Alexsandar Rakic vs (10) Azamat Murzakanov Rd 1 3:11 KO
WOW, another quick finish with a beautifully placed shot by Azamat Murzakanov. Not the most sportsmanlike from the Russian, but this is MMA, not Little League football; it’s not required. Very impressive win from the 36-year-old, adding another finish. I wonder what awaits him next, maybe a Khalil Roundtree Jr. fight? Both are shorter strikers, and I know personally, I would be interested.
(2) Alexander Volkov vs (5) Jailton Almeida Volkov Split Decision
In a close fight, the judges say Volkov did enough to win the decision. After the way the Gane fight went, everyone kinda knew if it went to decision, Volkov would win. I am not saying it was a robbery, but I definitely am glad I am not a judge. Regardless, I do not think this win warrants a title fight and think he should have to take another top 5 fight the Sandhagen way.
(2) Umar Nurmagomedov vs (9) Mario Bautista Umar Unanimous Decision
In a fight where both fighters looked good in different moments, but the overall pressure and well-balanced style of Umar proved too much for the Brazilian in the end. Constant threats of takedowns and good combinations overwhelmed Bautista, who was not gonna just roll over. A fast and long knee from Mario dropped the Russian, but it wasn't enough to win. Unless it’s a mega fight versus Sean O’Malley, a title shot should be in the future again for the young fighter.
